Lynx Improve to 4-1 with Win over Lincoln Trail 83-65

Lincoln, IL – The Lincoln College men’s basketball team hosted Lincoln Trail College in their second match up of the season.  The Lynx jumped out to an early lead thanks to a great team effort on defense.  The Lynx were able to push their lead at half time to 37-27 led by a great defensive effort off the bench by Jalen McCaskill, 6’3 sophomore from Richton Park, IL and Henry Hicks, 6’2 Sophomore from Sauk Village, IL.  In the 2nd half the Lynx again came out and pushed their lead to a 20 point margin.  The Lynx played great team basketball in the 2nd half on both ends of the floor.  Pushing their lead to over 20 points and never looking back.

The Lynx were led by sophomore Aaron Simpson, 6′ guard from North Chicago, IL with 18 points and 3 assist, freshman Jagger Anderson, 6’1 guard from Springfield, IL, with 13 points and 2 assist and sophomore Chris Davis, forward from Springfield, IL, with 11 points and 13 rebounds.  Coach Lepper said “I was proud of our overall team defense and the way our bench stepped up tonight.  We played a great overall team game tonight, and that showed on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.”

The Lynx are back in action this Friday and Saturday as they host North Park University JV and Black Hawk East College in the Lincoln College Classic.  Game times are at 7:30pm on Friday and 3:00pm on Saturday.
