ICC trips up LC MBB 77-62

East Peoria, IL – The men’s basketball team took on rival ICC and fell short losing 77-62 in Mid-West Athletic Conference play on Saturday.  Three Lynx were in double figures with freshman Stephen Williams (Chicago, IL) leading the way with 19 points.  David Anderson (Peoria, IL) and Conlan Callahan (Seneca, IL) had 18 and 17 points respectively.  Anderson led the Lynx with seven rebounds and Williams handed out five assists.  The Cougars led 41-30 at halftime and finished shooting 46.4% from the field for the game.  ICC dominated Lincoln with 38 points off the bench while the Lynx only got eight points from its reserves.  Lincoln won the battle on the glass outrebounding ICC 37-34.

Lynx MBB slip past Cobras 58-55 in MWAC play

Lincoln, IL – The men’s basketball team battled out a tough MWAC contest on Saturday and came away defeating the Cobras of Parkland College 58-55.  Parkland entered the contest leading the conference with a 2-0 record while the Lynx had yet to earn a conference victory.  With the win, the Lynx improve to 8-15 and 1-2 in conference play.  Parkland drops to 13-9 and 2-1 in the conference.

Lynx MBB fall to JWCC in MWAC play

The men’s basketball team traveled to John Wood Community College on Wednesday night to take on the Trail Blazers in a MidWest Conference game.  Two 14-0 runs by JWCC, one in each half, doomed the Lynx (5-13, 0-2) as they took down the Lynx 76-46.  Sophomore Juvon Turner (Chicago, IL) led the Lynx with 14 points off the bench.  Freshman guard Stephen Williams (Chicago, IL) added nine points and handed out a team-high five assists.  JWCC (6-15, 1-1) took care of the rebounding battle as they outrebounding Lincoln 50-28.  Lincoln shot 30.6 percent from the field and just 12.5 percent from the 3-point line.  Lincoln forced 20 Trail Blazer turnovers for the game.

Late free throws sink Lynx MBB

Springfield, IL – The Lincoln College men’s basketball team fell to Lincoln Land Community College 69-68 at Cass Gymnasium in the Midwest Athletic Conference opener for both teams.  LLCC freshman Alex Portwood sank two free throws with 1.3 seconds to steal the win from the Lynx.  Lincoln took a 15 point lead into halftime at 38-23 after shooting 58% from the field while holding LLCC to only 26%.  Lincoln continued it’s hot shooting in the second half, but turnovers proved to be the difference as the Lynx committed 19, with the last one being a 5-second call on an inbound pass with just 2.3 seconds left in regulation.

Lynx MBB comeback falls a point short

Lincoln, IL – The men’s basketball team’s furious, late comeback fell one point short as the visiting Warriors of Rend Lake College held on to defeat Lincoln 70-69 in a Region 24 matchup on Monday evening at Jack D.

Lynx MBB hold off IVCC 73-68

Ogelsby, IL – The men’s basketball team held off a furious late comeback as they downed IVCC Tuesday night 73-68 on the road.  The Lynx took a five point advantage into halftime and pulled ahead as many as 12 points in the second half.  The Eagles battled back to cut the Lincoln lead to four at 70-66 before late free throws by the Lynx sealed the win.
